MFH Group Supports The Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospital...

MFH Contract Engineering Services (Leicester) were pleased to support the haematology day ward at Leicester's Royal Infirmary Hospital with a donation of £1000.00

The donation by MFH follows a similar donation given by a patient who was treated on the ward for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

The Townsend family of wigston have been raising funds for the ward for the last three years following the diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma with Jaron Towsend when he was 19. Jaron now aged 21 was so grateful to the staff who treated him, that his family and him decided to raise money for the much valued haematology day ward.

Jaron Townsend and his father Kevin recently completed a bike ride to Skegness and back to raise funds for the ward, which they handed over a couple of months ago. They raised £1,000 from their fund-raising endeavour.

When MFH engineering found out about how much they had raised they offered to match the amount and donated a cheque to the same value.

Matron Diane Gill, Usha Mehta and Rachel Moore, who both work on the haematology day ward and treated Jaron, received the cheque on behalf of the ward and said a big thank you to them both for the kind donation.

Kevin said: "The staff on the ward are so hard working and dedicated - they are inspiring. They all made such a big difference to Jaron's life and for that we are so grateful. Fund-raising for the ward is our way of saying thank you.

"I'd also like to say a big thank you to MFH Engineering for matching the funds we raised earlier in the year - they have been really supportive of our cause, which we are really grateful for."
